I Accidentally Deleted My eSIM — What to Do

Accidentally deleting your eSIM is a stressful experience, especially when you're mid-trip. But don't panic! Here is an honest explanation of what happened and exactly what you need to do to get back online.

Can a Deleted Roamix eSIM Be Recovered?

Yes! You can reinstall your Roamix eSIM, but with one strict condition: it can only be reinstalled on the exact same device.

When you delete an eSIM profile, it is wiped from your device's secure storage. However, your original installation credentials remain valid for that specific piece of hardware. You cannot transfer the eSIM to a new or replacement phone, but you can put it right back where it was.

How to Reinstall Your eSIM Right Now

If you are using the same phone, you can get back online in minutes without needing to wait for support:

  1. Find your original QR code: Check your email for your Roamix purchase confirmation.
  2. Connect to Wi-Fi: You need an internet connection to download the profile.
  3. Scan the QR code: Go to your device's cellular settings and add a new eSIM, just like you did the first time.
  • iPhone: Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM → Use QR Code.
  • Android: Settings → Connections → SIM Manager → Add eSIM → Scan QR Code.

Once downloaded, your plan will resume right where it left off.

What If I Upgraded or Replaced My Phone?

If you accidentally deleted your eSIM because you got a new phone and wiped the old one, you will not be able to reinstall it using the original QR code.

In this case, or if your reinstall attempt fails on your original device, please contact us immediately:

Email support@roamix.app and include:

  • Your order number (from your purchase confirmation email)
  • Your device model (e.g., iPhone 15 Pro, Samsung Galaxy S24)
  • What happened (e.g., "Tried reinstalling on the same device but got an error" or "Upgraded to a new phone")

We will review your account and do everything in our power to help you get connected.

How to Prevent Accidentally Deleting Your eSIM

Prevention is the best approach. A few simple habits can eliminate this from happening again:

Label your eSIM clearly

Give your Roamix eSIM a recognizable name so it's never confused with other lines. On iPhone, go to Settings → Cellular → [your eSIM line] → "Label" and rename it something obvious like "Roamix Travel Data." On Android, this is typically in Settings → Connections → SIM Manager.

Disable the line instead of deleting it

You never need to delete an eSIM to stop using it temporarily. If you want to pause data usage on your Roamix eSIM — for example, to avoid accidental usage when you're not traveling — simply disable the line rather than deleting the profile.

On iPhone: Go to Settings → Cellular → [your Roamix line] and tap the green toggle at the top to turn it off. The eSIM profile remains safely stored on your device. You can re-enable it at any time.

On Android: Go to Settings → Connections → SIM Manager and toggle the line off.

Understand the difference between disabling and deleting

Always use the disable/toggle option unless you are absolutely certain your plan has fully expired and you are done with the profile.
