Managing Roamix Notification Preferences

Roamix gives you full control over which notifications you receive — from data usage alerts to promotional emails. You can adjust everything from your account settings, and unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time without affecting important transactional messages.

What Notifications Does Roamix Send?

Roamix notifications fall into two categories:

Transactional (important — always sent):

  • Order confirmation after purchase
  • eSIM installation instructions
  • Data usage alert at 80% remaining
  • Data usage alert at 100% (data exhausted)
  • Plan expiry reminder (24 hours before expiry)
  • Refund or billing notifications

Promotional (optional — can be turned off):

  • Travel tips and destination guides
  • New plan announcements
  • Special offers and discounts

How to Manage Email Notifications

  1. Log in to roamix.app
  2. Go to Profile → Settings → Notifications
  3. Under "Email Preferences", toggle each email type on or off
  4. Click "Save Preferences"

You can disable promotional emails here without affecting transactional emails like order confirmations and data alerts.

How to Manage Push Notifications

Push notifications require the Roamix app on iOS or Android:

  1. Open the Roamix app
  2. Go to Profile → Settings → Notifications
  3. Toggle individual push notification types on or off
  4. Click "Save"

You also need to make sure Roamix has notification permission at the device level:

  • iPhone: Settings → Roamix → Notifications → Allow Notifications
  • Android: Settings → Apps → Roamix → Notifications → toggle on

Both settings need to be enabled for push notifications to reach you.

When you're abroad, these are the most useful notifications to keep active:

NotificationRecommendation
Data usage alert at 80%Keep ON — gives you time to plan or top up
Data exhausted alertKeep ON — so you're never caught off-guard
Plan expiry reminderKeep ON — useful for multi-week trips
Order confirmationsAlways sent — cannot be disabled

The data usage alerts in particular are worth keeping on — they're the most actionable notifications Roamix sends, and the ones travelers find most useful.

Unsubscribe from Marketing Emails

Every promotional email from Roamix includes an "Unsubscribe" link in the footer. Clicking it immediately removes you from all marketing lists. This does not affect transactional emails — you'll still receive order confirmations, data alerts, and other important account messages, as these are necessary for the service to function.

If you want to re-subscribe to marketing emails in the future, go to Profile → Settings → Notifications and toggle them back on.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I stop receiving Roamix marketing emails?

Click the 'Unsubscribe' link at the bottom of any Roamix marketing email. Alternatively, go to Profile > Settings > Notifications and toggle off promotional emails. This won't affect order confirmations or data usage alerts.

Can I turn off data usage alerts from Roamix?

Yes, you can toggle data usage alerts off in Profile > Settings > Notifications. However, we strongly recommend keeping them on — they let you know when you've used 80% and 100% of your data, which is especially useful when you're traveling abroad.

How do I enable push notifications for the Roamix app?

In the Roamix app, go to Profile > Settings > Notifications and toggle on the push notification types you want. Also check your device settings: on iPhone, go to Settings > Roamix > Notifications > Allow Notifications. On Android, go to Settings > Apps > Roamix > Notifications.

What is the difference between Roamix email notifications and push notifications?

Email notifications are sent to your registered email address and work on any device — no app required. Push notifications appear on your phone's lock screen or notification center and require the Roamix app to be installed with notification permission granted. Both can carry the same alerts (like data usage warnings), but push notifications are faster. We recommend enabling both for the best experience while traveling.
