How to Delete or Remove Your Roamix eSIM
On this page
You can delete a Roamix eSIM from your device's cellular settings in a few taps. Before you do, read the warning below — deleting an eSIM is permanent and cannot be undone. If your trip isn't fully over, consider disabling the eSIM line instead of deleting it.
When Should You Delete Your eSIM?
Delete your Roamix eSIM only when:
- Your trip is completely finished and you're certain you won't need it again.
- You're running low on eSIM storage and need to free a slot for a new profile.
- You're selling or trading in your device.
Do not delete your eSIM during a trip, on a layover, or if you have any remaining data balance you might want to use.
Warning: Deletion Is Permanent
Once you delete an eSIM profile from your device, it is gone. This is a security feature of eSIM technology — each QR code or activation code is single-use and cannot be reissued after it has been activated.
What you lose when you delete:
- The eSIM profile (it cannot be reinstalled)
- Any remaining data balance on that plan
- The ability to use that plan on any device
Roamix support cannot restore a deleted eSIM. This is a hardware and network-level limitation that applies to all eSIM providers.
How to Delete on iPhone
- Open Settings > Cellular (or Mobile Data).
- Scroll down and tap your Roamix eSIM line.
- Scroll to the bottom of that screen.
- Tap "Remove Cellular Plan" (shown in red).
- Tap "Remove" to confirm.
The eSIM is removed from your device immediately. On iPhone 14 and later, the option may appear as "Delete eSIM".
Which iPhone Models Support eSIM?
eSIM is available on iPhone XS (2018) and later. The steps above apply to all supported models.
How to Delete on Android
Steps vary by manufacturer:
Google Pixel: Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs > select Roamix eSIM > tap the three-dot menu or "Delete" option > confirm.
Samsung Galaxy: Settings > Connections > SIM card manager > select Roamix eSIM > tap "Remove" or "Delete eSIM" > confirm.
OnePlus / OPPO: Settings > SIM card & mobile network > SIM management > select Roamix eSIM > Delete.
Should I Delete or Just Disable It?
In most cases, disabling is the better choice. Disabling (toggling the eSIM line off) keeps the profile installed on your device but inactive. When you turn it back on, you pick up exactly where you left off — remaining balance intact.
To disable without deleting:
- iPhone: Settings > Cellular > tap Roamix eSIM > toggle "Turn On This Line" to off.
- Android: Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs > select Roamix eSIM > toggle "Use SIM" to off.
A disabled eSIM takes up one of your eSIM storage slots (typically 5–20 slots on modern phones) but otherwise uses no resources.
Keeping Your eSIM Safe Going Forward
- Label your eSIM clearly: In Settings > Cellular, tap the Roamix eSIM line and change the label to "Roamix [Destination]" so you can't confuse it with other lines.
- Don't delete during a trip: Even if you think you're done, wait until you're fully home and connected to your home network.
- Check remaining balance first: Open the Roamix dashboard and confirm your balance is zero or near-zero before deleting.
If you've accidentally deleted your Roamix eSIM, contact support@roamix.app immediately — while recovery is generally not possible, we'll do everything we can to assist.
