Critical foldable note: eSIM activation requires the phone to be fully unfolded (inner main display active). The outer Quick View screen cannot access the Settings app needed for eSIM provisioning. Always open the flip completely before starting.

How to Activate eSIM on Motorola Razr 50 or Razr+ (2024)

Setting up an eSIM is a digital process that takes less than a minute:

1. Open Settings.
2. Tap Network & internet.
3. Tap SIMs.
4. Tap Add SIM or the + (plus) icon.
5. Tap Download a SIM instead.
6. Scan the Roamix QR code from your email.
7. Confirm the download and wait for it to finish.
8. Set the Roamix line as your data SIM.
9. Ensure the Data Roaming toggle is switched on for the new plan.

Razr 50 eSIM for International Travel

Roamix works with any unlocked Razr 50 or Razr+. Purchase a plan, scan the QR code on Wi-Fi with the phone fully open, and connect to local networks on arrival.

Troubleshooting Razr 50 eSIM

QR code won't scan: The Razr 50 must be fully unfolded (main inner display) to scan QR codes during eSIM installation. The cover Quick View display cannot be used for this process. Open the flip fully and retry.

"Download a SIM instead" not visible: Carrier lock or a US carrier-branded Razr without eSIM hardware. Check Settings → About phone for model number. US carrier models sold by Verizon or T-Mobile may lack eSIM even on the same Razr name. Contact your carrier to confirm.

eSIM installed but no data abroad: Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → select Roamix → enable Data Roaming → set as preferred data SIM. Toggle Airplane Mode on/off.

QR scan fails even when fully open: Try manual entry using the SM-DP+ address from your Roamix confirmation email. Tap "Enter manually" during the activation flow.
