The Samsung Galaxy XCover series is designed for field use — MIL-STD-810H rated, IP68/IP69K sealed, and built to survive drops, dust, and high-pressure washing. eSIM was added with the XCover 6 Pro and extended to the XCover 7 and 7 Pro, allowing data plan changes without opening the sealed SIM compartment.
eSIM availability by model: XCover 6 Pro, XCover 7, XCover 7 Pro — eSIM supported. XCover 5, XCover 4, XCover 4s, XCover Pro — physical SIM only, no eSIM.
Enterprise deployment note: Most XCover devices reach end users through enterprise procurement rather than retail. Carrier-locked and MDM-managed configurations are common. Verify your device's carrier unlock status before purchasing a Roamix plan.
How to Activate eSIM on XCover 7 / 7 Pro
- Go to Settings.
- Tap Connections.
- Tap SIM Manager.
- Select Add eSIM.
- Scan the QR code provided by Roamix.
- Once installed, activate the eSIM.
- Set the Roamix eSIM as your Preferred data SIM in the SIM Manager.
- Make sure Data roaming is enabled for the Roamix profile.
Troubleshooting Galaxy XCover eSIM
"Add eSIM" not appearing in SIM Manager: Two causes — carrier lock or MDM policy. Check Settings → General management → Device security status (MDM enrollment). For carrier lock: contact your carrier's enterprise team for an unlock code. XCover 5 and older have no eSIM hardware at all.
eSIM installed but no data abroad: Open SIM Manager and confirm the Roamix eSIM is set as your Mobile Data line. Also verify Data Roaming is enabled: Settings → Connections → SIM Manager → select Roamix eSIM → Data roaming: On.
"This device does not support eSIM": You have a model older than the XCover 6 Pro (XCover 5, XCover 4, etc.), or a carrier variant without eSIM hardware. Confirm by checking Settings → About phone → Model number against Samsung's spec sheets.
MDM policy blocks eSIM management: Your device is enrolled in a corporate MDM (Samsung Knox, MobileIron, or Intune). eSIM management actions are restricted by IT policy. Your administrator must whitelist eSIM provisioning or temporarily suspend the MDM profile for you to install a personal travel eSIM.

Samsung Galaxy XCover eSIM Guide eSIM — Frequently Asked Questions
Which Samsung XCover models have eSIM?
Galaxy XCover 6 Pro, XCover 7, and XCover 7 Pro support eSIM. The XCover 5, XCover 4, and earlier models do NOT — they have physical SIM trays only. Check your model number in Settings → About phone before purchasing.
My XCover is enterprise-managed — can I install Roamix?
Enterprise XCover devices are often carrier-locked or MDM-managed. Request a carrier unlock from your carrier first. If an MDM policy is applied, your IT administrator must permit eSIM management before a third-party profile can be installed.
How do I activate eSIM on the XCover 7 or 7 Pro?
Settings → Connections → SIM Manager → Add eSIM. Scan the Roamix QR code. Set the Roamix eSIM as Mobile Data and enable Data Roaming for that line. You must be connected to Wi-Fi during download.
Does eSIM on the XCover avoid opening the sealed SIM compartment?
Yes. The XCover series uses an IP68/IP69K-rated SIM tray secured with a cover. Using eSIM lets you add a travel data line in the field without exposing the SIM slot to dust or water.
