Universal check: Regardless of brand, go to Settings → Network & internet → SIMs. If an option to add a digital or downloaded SIM appears, your device supports eSIM. If no such option exists, your variant has no eSIM chip.
Carrier unlock: Most niche-brand phones sold through carriers in North America and some European markets are carrier-locked. Unlock must be completed before installing a third-party eSIM like Roamix. Contact your carrier for unlock eligibility requirements.
How to Activate eSIM on Niche-Brand Phones
- Connect to Wi-Fi.
- Open Settings.
- Tap Network & internet (or SIM cards / SIM management on some Android builds).
- Look for Add eSIM, Download a SIM instead, or a + icon next to SIMs.
- Scan the Roamix QR code from your confirmation email.

Troubleshooting eSIM on Niche Brands
"Add eSIM" / "Download a SIM instead" option missing: Three possible causes: (1) your specific model variant has no eSIM hardware — check the spec sheet for your exact model number; (2) your device is carrier-locked and the carrier has hidden the eSIM menu; (3) the Android version needs updating — some older Android builds on niche devices lack eSIM UI support even if hardware is present.
eSIM installed but no data abroad: Set the Roamix profile as the default Mobile data line: Settings → Network & internet → SIM cards → select Roamix eSIM → set as default for Mobile data. Enable Data Roaming on that line. Toggle Airplane Mode on/off to force network re-registration.
QR scan rejected or "invalid QR code": The scan must be performed within the Settings eSIM flow, not the standard camera app. If scanning fails repeatedly, use the manual activation code option — enter the SM-DP+ server address and activation code from your Roamix confirmation email.
Device claims eSIM installed but no profile visible: Restart the device after installation. Some niche-brand Android builds require a reboot before a newly downloaded eSIM profile appears in the SIM management list. If after restart the profile is still absent, contact Roamix support for a replacement QR code.
